Why We Built HiNotes
Every week, millions of families face the same recurring problem: two people buy the same milk while forgetting the bread, important medical checklists get misplaced, and sticky notes peel off the refrigerator. Instant messaging groups quickly bury critical task items under casual banter, photos, and links. Meanwhile, enterprise productivity software is weighed down with complex sprint boards, required team training, and recurring monthly per-seat fees.
HiNotes bridges this divide. It provides an elegant, simple note pad and dynamic task checklist with instant 6-digit family workspace codes. Spouses, children, or housemates can join in three seconds and see updates live.
Technical Architecture & Local-First Principles
- Local-First SQLite Room DB: On Android, every note and task is written directly to on-device SQLite storage instantly. You never have to wait for network roundtrips.
- Automatic Cloud Synchronization: When connectivity resumes, our sync engine securely uploads pending local changes to the cloud via background REST APIs, keeping notes and shared family checklists harmonized across devices.
- Web Engine: Engineered with React 19, TypeScript, and Vite for sub-second page loads across desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers.
